CONGRATULATIONS!

You have done a good job and Nicola and me are proud of you. I hope all of you have enjoyed your reading and performance of Shakespeare’s play Romeo and Juliet. I think it has been a positive experience to share the result of our effort with other students. Here you are some pictures:

European Union

‘A day will come when all the nations of this continent, without losing their distinct qualities or their glorious individuality, will fuse together in a higher unity and form the European brotherhood. A day will come when the only battlefield will be the marketplace for competing ideas. A day will come when bullets and bombs will be replaced by votes.’ Victor Hugo spoke these prophetic words in 1849, but it took more than a century for his utopian predictions to start coming true. Nowadays, every May 9th, we celebrate Europe Day.
We are going to learn about the origin of European Union, its member states, symbols and so on. Finally, our class will become Europe itself. Each student will represent a country.

Read the following texts carefully and then answer the activities below. You may click here if you want to listen to the European Anthem.
